Parininihi Ki Waitotara

ICL Construction were engaged to refurbish a commercial building in New Plymouth for Parininihi Ki Waitotara

Conversion of the existing building into new offices included builders work, siteworks, interior finishing, electrical and hydraulic services. upgrades to service connections in the state highway were also undertaken.

The buildings was a historic warehouse and was designed by the Architect to retain as much of the the existing super structure of the building as possible. The highlight of the build is the oval shaped atrium that was created by projecting the Architects shape from the ground floor vertically through the first floor and roof system. Both of which align perfectly and encompass the entry stairs and lift.

ICL also assisted with attendance on the client supplied furniture contractors and assisted in the setup and install of the companies computer IT system throughout the building.

Upon completion of the building ICL formed a new sealed ashphalt carpark, gardens and vehicle crossing.

This project won the 2017 New Zealand Institute of Architects Western Region Awards.
