Through a thorough competitive tender process ICL were selected as preferred contractor to deliver this prestigious new state of the art Fernery and Office Building.
Including demolition of the existing facilities and staged construction in a high profile public domain, ICL delivered this project whilst working around the parks facility staff within a live environment of growing and cultivating exotic plants.
The new facility was constructed in, around and over the top of the existing exotic fauna and included a new office building with underground tunnel into the fernery system and a new state of the art glasshouse on top.
The glasshouse and office were completed with a high level of service coordination with specialist irrigation and sprinkler systems for the glasshouse and fernery, This included specialist computer control systems.
The special bell shaped brick wall design feature is a stand out to the visual appearence of the building, and is a testament to the construction methodologies and experience of our construction personel in order to achieve this weather tight feature as the Architect had intended.
Extensive siteworks were also completed around the exotic plants and trees, works were sufficiently protected to reduce damage throughout the construction phase.
The fernery now stands weathered as intended blending into the surrouding fabric as if it was never there.
