Ryman Healthcare - Jean Sandel Village Extension

ICL were the selected main contractor for the construction of the main Building VC Extension. ICL completed this project under an ECI arrangement and negotiated the project costings to suit their budget with the senior Quantity Surveyor.

ICL input led to ensuring constructible outcomes by engaging our own engineer and working collaboratively with Ryman Healthcare to deliver on site engieering requirements for the local council. We jointly developed a realistic programme which had detailed float and time-risk allowances. We developed Inspection and Test Plans suitable for the work being undertaken to ensure a “right first time, every time” approach.

Under the eye of some of Taranaki's retired elite, ICL had to ensure every piece of the construction was completed with the highest level of quality and safety.

Ultimately the project included the refurbishment and extension of the existing bar, restaurant and lounge, and full refurbishment of the inside of the building. The project involved the installation of a new deck, glazing, finishes and fittings and upgrades to the existing services, such as the kitchens and bars. This work included full services, suspended ceilings, external joinery and louvres as well as site works in and around the facility.

ICL have undertaken other smaller project works for Ryman Healthcare at the Jean Sandel village including fire separation works and various civil works.

The VC Extension project won a Silver award at the 2019 Commerical Project Awards.
